Marthas Family

Martha’s* family- Martha’s family came here from the Congo for both safety and medical reasons. The war in the Congo reached such heights that FDLR rebels were using rape of women, murder, and destruction in order to weaken the Congolese. Having a family of 5 girls and one young boy, it was no longer safe for them to stay in the country. Martha* and two of her daughters also have sickle cell anemia, and came seeking medical assistance from Belgium’s open social system. Martha’s* son has also developed serious stomach issues, to the point where he has trouble keeping food down. Without correct status, they are unable to receive adequate medical care. Their immediate needs include food and medical attention. Breaking Chains Network is seeking people who would be willing to sponsor Martha’s family either with a one-time gift, or ideally as a monthly pledge. Please contact us if this is something you are able and willing to do, or if you have more questions about how you can help. * Names Changed
